On behalf of organizing committee, I take great pride in welcoming all of you to attend this two-day International Event on December 10- 11, 2019 organized by Land Management Training Center in collaboration with International Society for Remote Sensing and Photogrammetry (TC V / WG 7 and TC IV / WG 6), Nepal Remote Sensing and Photogrammetric Society and Nepal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in Dhulikhel, a naturally majestic city of Nepal rich in ancient traditions and culture.
Geospatial domain has the characteristics of rapid development and adoption of newer technologies. This calls for a challenging task of harnessing recent scientific advances across multiple fields of education and research; then accelerate and guide evolution of geospatial technology. To ensure this, this workshop incorporates a wide spectrum of themes and, will provide a perfect global networking platform as it brings together renowned professionals from all over the world. The primary goal of this workshop is to cater exchange of recent research achievements and break-through ideas on cutting edge geospatial technologies and latest trends in geospatial education amongst multi-disciplinary group of attendees. This international workshop also aims to flourish collaborative relationship among national/international institutions, academicians and professionals for mutual benefit through knowledge sharing and technology transfer.
I believe especially our international participants will enjoy the scenic beauty of naturally enriched mountains during your stay in Nepal. I sincerely invite you to join us to make this workshop a fruitful and memorable event.

- Dr. Sunil Babu Shrestha is the Vice- Chancellor and an Academician of Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST). Dr. Shrestha has served the nation two times (2009, 2015-2018) as a member of National Planning Commission, Government of Nepal. Professional Engineer Dr. Shrestha has gained more than 25 years experiences, working in different organizations (Private, Government and Non-government) in various professional and administrative capacities. Dr. Shrestha had Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering and Master of Science in Urban Planning from Institute of Engineering, Tribhuvan University, Nepal. He earned Doctor of Engineering in Environmental Development Engineering in 2004 from Osaka Sangyo University (OSU), Japan. He was trained from Institute for Housing and Urban Development Studies (IHS), Weitz Center for Development Studies, Israel The Institute for Public-Private Partnerships (IP3) USA, Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) Thailand. He is honored with many medals and awards in Science and Technology field. He has authored a book called A Sustainable City Planning Methodology for 21st Century (Concept of Food Green City) and had number of articles published.
Prof. Dr. J.A. Zevenbergen
Faculty of Geoinformation Science and Earth Observation,
University of Twente, The Netherlands
- Prof. Dr.J.A. Zevenbergen studied Geodetic Engineering 1984-1990 at the Delft University Technology and Law from 1987-1992 at the University of Leiden. In 2002 he defended his PhD on Systems of Land Registration at the former one. From 1989 till 2003 he worked in different academic positions at the Faculty (later Department) of Geodesy in Delft, and from 2003-2010 as associate professor in Geoinformation Management at the Research Institute OTB in Delft. Since 2008 he has been full professor at the now Faculty of Geoinformation Science and Earth Observation, University of Twente. In addition to teaching at different programmes and supervising MSc and PhD theses (since 1991), he was been involved in consulting in different continents on cadastre and land registration projects. Among the first was the registration of polluted soils in the Netherlands and cadastre projects in the Republic of Moldova and Bulgaria (all in the 1990s). He has published widely in the fields of land administration and geoinformation management, esp. at FIG events and in several international journals.
- He currently is the Editor in Chief of the journal Land Use Policy. He was the lead editor of the books ”Modeling Real Property Transactions” (DUP 2007) and ”Advances in Responsible Land Administration” (CRC 2015). Earlier he sat on the International Advisory Board of the Global Land Tool Network for the academic cluster (2011-2015) and acted as co-chair of FIG commissions 7 working group on land administration and disaster (2010-2014). He currently sits on the board of Cadasta Foundation (USA), Lift Cities Foundation (NL) and Foundation FIG WW 2020. Dr. Sultan Kocaman

Hacettepe University, Ankara, Turkey
- Sultan Kocaman is geoinformatics engineer with solid academic background and practical experience in geospatial technologies and citizen science. She has several publications in peer-reviewed journals and international scientific events. She is currently Associate Professor at Hacettepe University, Department of Geomatics Engineering in Ankara, Turkey. She is chairing ISPRS WGV/3 (Promotion of Regional Collaboration in Citizen Science and Geospatial Technology) btw. 2016-2020, Management Committee Member of Citizen Science Cost Action and a former coordinator of ISPRS Student Consortium.
- Sultan Kocaman received her B.Sc. degree in Geodesy and Photogrammetry Engineering from Yildiz Technical University, Istanbul, Turkey in 1997 and M.Sc. degree from the Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey in 2001. She received her Ph.D. degree from the Institute of Geodesy and Photogrammetry, ETH Zurich, Switzerland in 2008 and worked as postdoctoral researcher at the same Institute for several years. Her main research interests are sensor modeling, calibration and validation of optical imagery; development of new geospatial processes for disaster management; and management and quality assurance of large geodatabases with a focus on citizen science approaches.

Registration will be opened on the 1st of November till the 15th of November 2019. Provided the limited number of seats (150 available), we kindly request all interested candidates to fill up registration form within the deadline. We will send out email confirmation not later than 17th November 2019 and request you to make the necessary payment as specified in the payment section of the website upon receiving the confirmation. If the available number of seats gets filled up earlier than the deadline, registration can be closed immediately and no further requests for registration will be entertained afterward.

- All accepted papers should be presented at the workshop; for this, at least one of the authors (if there are many) of the accepted paper must register to the workshop within the given deadline. Inability to do so will automatically lead to withdrawing the paper from the workshop and publication.
- A Young Surveyor is defined as a person 35 years old or younger or within 10 years of graduation
with a Bachelors or Masters degree in surveying/geomatics. (FIG Definition) - Registration fee will cover two-day lunch and reception dinner. The additional money with * is required if participants want to publish their paper.

Important Information for the International Participants
- Nepal offers Visa on Arrival facility for most of the countries. Only the nationals of 12
countries, namely Nigeria, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Cameroon, Somalia, Liberia,
Ethiopia, Iraq, Palestine, Afghanistan and Syria need tourist visa from Nepalese
diplomatic mission before their departure to Nepal. Indian nationals do not require visa
but an identity card such as passport, citizenship card, ration card etc. is a must. Please,
visit http://www.nepalimmigration.gov.np for detailed information. - The temperature range in December is approximately 20 degree Celsius to 3 degree Celsius. You will need winter
clothes in the morning as well as in the evening. - You are highly encouraged to explore the beauty of this country.
